Hey Imagine Urbana Fans

Thank you for staying engaged with the Imagine Urbana Comprehensive Plan process by subscribing to our quarterly newsletter! If this is your first Imagine Urbana newsletter, WELCOME!  You will receive updates on where we are in the Imagine Urbana process and what will be happening in the months ahead.   

Remember, the City’s Comprehensive Plan is a 10 to 20-year vision for Urbana’s future and the strategies to make that vision a reality. This plan will guide City decisions on Urbana’s quality of life, arts & culture scene, land use, transportation, infrastructure, environment, economic development, housing, governance, and more. Urbana's Comprehensive Plan process is centered on extensive community engagement to identify issues important to our community, and will ultimately result in the development of goals and aspirations for the future development of our community. 

Community Engagement Phase I wrapped up on January 31, 2022.  

As of February 1, the surveys on ImagineUrbana.com and the Imagine Urbana text number are closed, and the Idea Wall and Urbana Places map can no longer receive new input. This allows us to compile all the feedback we have received this past year through the website, surveys, events, and one-on-one discussions.  However, the ideas on the Idea Wall, as well as, the Urbana Places Map comments posted by those who live, work, play and visit Urbana, are still visible for all to see at ImagineUrbana.com. 

Soon we will share our Community Engagement Phase I Report summarizing all the feedback that was received from this initial community engagement phase.  This report will also identify topics that our community feels are most important for our City to address. This community feedback will set the foundation for Community Engagement Phase II where we will invite the public in the coming months to have conversations on each of the these critical issues.

The Imagine Urbana Comprehensive Plan process spans a period of three years, with the final Plan expected at the end of 2023.  Community Engagement Phase I is complete and we are now moving on to Phase II. There will be many more opportunities for our community to provide additional feedback and get involved in group discussions.
